Within the framework of the project, the following OHLs will be built:
- 500 kV high-voltage transmission line “Tskhaltubo-Akhaltsikhe” with а Length of 103 km
- 400 kV Akhaltsikhe-Tortum high-voltage transmission line with a length of 34 km, Connection of Georgia-Turkey energy systems
The project will allow to provide another opportunity for use of Georgia`s rich hydro power resources.
after that:
- Due to this, the Georgian electricity system’s interconnection with both Europe and Turkey will be strengthened.
- The capacity and efficiency of the Georgia’s power network will greatly enhance after the project is completed.
- For the 500kV power network Enguri-Zestaponi-Akhaltsikhe, a significant reserve network will be generated.
- At the same time shutdowns and the amount of electricity that is not supplied will be reduced, that will, in turn, make cross-border trade easier.
